Lovely Brownie

Below is a photo of a lovely brownie that was caught, photographed and then returned on Crombie:

It's A Cracker!

Stuart Thom from Forfar with his fish of 9lb 10z. See Recent Returns for details.

North Pond Trollies

To help anglers get their gear to and from the North Pond, the Parks Department have kindly provided the club with 3 trollies. The keys for the trollies can be obtained from the duty bailiff.

Think Before Killing

The average cost of a trout to the club is £4.30, so it doesn't take a genius to work out that if everybody takes their limit of 5 fish the club will be losing a lot of money. So, particularly in these early days of the season, please consider not killing your limit every-time you go out. Knock the barbs off and fish catch and release and leave some fish in the water for later in the season when the fishing is generally a bit tougher. After all it doesn't take a great deal of fishing prowess to catch a lot or recently stocked fish, and beside there are some really big fish in the ponds this year - you wouldn't want to have taken your limit and then have to return a fish of over 8lb!!

Car Parking!!!

We're not even a week into the season and we've already had complaints from the Park Rangers about club members abusing parking privileges; this time it was somebody trying to use their parking pass at Crombie when they weren't fishing. Come on folks, everybody should be well aware that our parking permits can only be used when we are going fishing. Continued abuse of the system could result in us all losing our permits and having to pay for our parking.

Old Photos

Dave Roy has come up with the idea of decorating the large notice board in the anglers' hut with photographs of fishing Monikie and the club members from years gone by. The only problem is he doesn't have enough photographs. So if anybody out there has any photos related to fishing on Monikie (or some of our worthies) in years gone by, and they are willing to share them, could they please give Dave a call on 01382 477225 and he will arrange to collect, copy and return the originals to you. Thanks.
