Welcome to the home of the Monikie Angling Club. If you are looking for some of the best
trout fishing in the East of Scotland, then you've come to the right place.
Monikie Angling Club was formed in 1976 and is located in Monikie and Crombie Country Parks which are just a few miles outside of Dundee.
Other than the fishing, the parks are administered by the
Angus Council and provide a large variety of facilities.
The Club provides fly fishing for stocked brown and rainbow
trout in three ponds spread between the two parks; with the bailiff's hut (complete with tea, coffee and microwave
facilities) being located in Monikie Park. There are a total of 21 boats available (11 on the Island, 6 on the North and 4 on Crombie) to members and visitors; including visiting clubs. Anglers are welcome
to use their own electric outboard motors, but none are available for hire.
In Monikie Country Park fishing is available for both brown and rainbow trout on the Island Pond,
and for rainbow trout only on the North Pond. The fishing at Crombie Country Park is for brown trout only.
Please note that on all ponds it is fly fishing only and no bank fishing is permitted. Please also note that
only club boats can be used for angling, and no anchoring is permitted.
The 2014 fishing session dates are:
The North and Island ponds open on Wednesday 12th March 2014
Crombie opens on Saturday 15th March 2014
Crombie will close on Sunday 6th October 2014

There are some big fish in the Monikie waters with last season's heaviest fish
weighing in at 6lb 03oz. One thing that is certain about all of Monikie's fish, they are all
high quality, fully finned, hard fighting trout.
To paraphrase a well know TV advert, club members widely consider Monikie to be:
"Probably the best value fishing in Scotland."
