Welcome to the home of the Monikie Angling Club. If you are looking for some of the best trout fishing in the East of Scotland, then you've come to the right place.

Monikie Angling Club was formed in 1976 and is located in Monikie and Crombie Country Parks which are just a few miles outside of Dundee. Other than the fishing, the parks are administered by the Angus Council and provide a large variety of facilities.

The Club provides fly fishing for stocked brown and rainbow trout in three ponds spread between the two parks; with the bailiff's hut (complete with tea, coffee and microwave facilities) being located in Monikie Park. There are a total of 21 boats available (11 on the Island, 6 on the North and 4 on Crombie) to members and visitors; including visiting clubs. Anglers are welcome to use their own electric outboard motors, but none are available for hire.

In Monikie Country Park fishing is available for both brown and rainbow trout on the Island Pond, and for rainbow trout only on the North Pond. The fishing at Crombie Country Park is for brown trout only.

Please note that on all ponds it is fly fishing only and no bank fishing is permitted.

The 2012 fishing session dates are:

• All ponds open on Wednesday 14th March 2012

• Crombie will close on Friday 5th October 2012

• Island Pond and North Pond will close on Saturday 17th November 2012

• Evening sessions will run from Saturday 14th April until Friday 25th August.

The session times are:

• Day session (whole season) - 09:30 - 16:30.

• Evening session - 17:00 - sunset + 1 hour.

There are some big fish in the Monikie waters with this season's heaviest fish currently weighing in at 9lb 10oz. One thing that is certain about all of Monikie's fish, they are all high quality, fully finned, hard fighting trout.
